My Child Is Learning English As A Second Language:
How Can Read, Write & Type! Help?
The RWT! Learning System is uniquely adapted to meet the needs of children who are learning English as a second language.
The auditory Help component was developed after intensive consultations with leading researchers in the field of bilingual education. Results of the current studies on the most effective ways to teach English as a second language suggest that immersion in the target language (English) with sufficient support for help and assistance in the native language has met with great success.
With a grant award from The National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), we were able to provide auditory help and instructions in Spanish, whenever needed. More recently, we have added help in Arabic and Bahasa Melayu. This language "toggle" (access to another language) is an option available to the child at sign-in, and allows for clarification in a child's native language by simply clicking the "Yellow Balloon" on the screen.
While using the RWT! Learning System, your child has a special opportunity to:
- practice English phonics
- increase vocabularyby naming over 200 colorful pictures
- learn correct syntax and grammar as she hears stories and construct her own sentences
- sound out and spell new words
in a fun, non-judgmental environment!

Correlating with State Standards
In order to help schools integrate the Talking Fingers family of products into their curriculum, we have correlated both our software programs with the Language Arts standards of each of the 50 states.
